Get a government contribution towards the purchase and installation of your home or business EV charge point.
Affordable home charging
As of April 2020, you can receive up to £350 (a max of 75% the value of the installation) from the government to pay towards a home charge point. If you own an electric car, van or bike, and you meet the below criteria, it's an amazing saving on the costs.
Homeco Energy is an accredited installer, allowing you to apply for an OLEV grant. Based in Sheffield we have completed installations for homeowners throughout the county.
How do I qualify?
- You have dedicated off-street parking.
- Your electric vehicle was purchased after 1st October 2016, or you plan to purchase one within the next 4 months (with proof of purchase).
- You have not already claimed the grant for your electric car.
- You are not exceeding the limit of two OLEV funded charging points per household (i.e. one charger per vehicle, and up to two chargers per household)
- You must choose an installer that is recognised under the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS) and Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS, for workplace installations)
- Grants are not available on used chargers (we would always recommend a new one with a known history)
Currently, the grant is now only available on 'smart' chargers (i.e. ones you can control with an app). Simpler 'dumb chargers' are not eligible for a grant, but it's worth noting that some might be cheaper even without the grant, so we always recommend doing your research.
